When are camp payments due?

There is a $99 deposit due at time of registration. Half of your balance is due on May 1. The remaining balance is due June 1.

Do you have any fundraising ideas?

We know the cost of camp can be daunting, especially if you have more than one child.  We strongly encourage you to involve the whole family and especially the camper to help fundraise for camp.  This increases a sense of appreciation and ownership in their spiritual development.  Recycling, yard work, housework, and notably sponsor letters have all proven helpful in raising money for camp.

Are there any discounts available for camp?

Yes! The first 250 campers to register will receive $50 off their final balance for camp. If you are sending multiple kids to camp, we also offer a sibling discount of $50 per camper.

What is your cancellation policy?

If, after signing up, your camper is unable to attend camp, please contact us as soon as you are aware at aaustin@highdesertchurch.com. Refunds are dependent on the dates outlined on our camp refund policy.

Can my child arrive late or leave early?

We hope not! But we understand sometimes there are special circumstances. If you have a situation like this, please reach to aaustin@highdesertchurch.com. You will need to arrange your own transportation to get your child to or from camp.

How do kids get to and from camp?

Campers will meet at HDC Victorville, where will take buses to and from camp. You will get more details about check in day as we get closer to camp!

When is drop off and pick up?

Kids will check in to camp on Sunday, June 30 at HDC Victorville at 2pm. We will arrive home on Friday, July 5 around 12pm.

Who are the counselors?

Our camp counselors are volunteer leaders who are background checked, trained on safety, equipped to care for students, and share the gospel. Our ratios are roughly two adult counselors to ten student campers.

Can I make friend requests?

Yes! We will do our best to accommodate your request, but we cannot make guarantees. Please provide friend requests when you register your child.

When will I find out my child’s team color and cabin assignment?

We will notify parents prior to camp. We have to wait on the camp to find out what our colors are!

Can my kid bring their phone or other electronics to camp?

We have a strict no electronic policy at camp. If there is an emergency, please contact Forest Home directly at (909) 389-2300.

Can campers call home or can parents call campers during camp?

Forest Home does not make phone services available for campers.  Generally speaking, children are not able to make or receive phone calls during camp.  If there is an extreme case involving your child at camp that warrants parental contact (i.e. discipline, extreme homesickness, injury, etc.) you will be contacted by our staff.

Are visitors allowed at camp?

For the safety of all campers, Forest Home DOES NOT allow visits by anyone other than church staff during camp.  Early arrival or pick-up of campers by parents is permitted in certain cases – they must be arranged in advance with church and camp staff.

Is there a packing list?

Yes! Please make sure to label all of your camper’s items. Check out the packing list here!

How do I send mail to my camper?

To ensure mail reaches your camper while they are at camp, please either:

  1. Pack any letters, cards, or packages in your camper’s suitcase for them to find once they arrive at camp.
  2. Give camper mail to HDC team on departure day. Please ensure that each piece of camper mail is labeled with the camper’s first and last name and the desired delivery day.
Does the camp accommodate dietary needs?

Yes, please indicate your child’s dietary needs on their Forest Home registration.

How does the camp handle medications?

All medications must be checked in on check-in day. Forest Home staff will be in charge of handling and administering all medications while we are at camp. There is a nurse on staff at Wild Rock and an entire health team on staff at Forest Home. Please make sure medications are in original packing with the prescription on them with written instructions.

Does my camper need spending money?

Spending money is not a necessity at kids camp. Kids will have access to a small store at Wild Rock, but will not have access to main camp during free time. Forest Home is Cashless, and all retail purchases must be made by credit card, debit card, Forest Home giftcard, or eGiftcard. The best way for campers at Wild Rock to purchase retail items is via eGiftcard.

Can I see pictures of my camper while they are at camp?

Yes! Follow @hdckids to see pictures our HDC staff is taking during the week. Pictures from Forest Home are typically added each night of camp. We will send out the link to those pictures once they are available.
