Anchored & Aimed

A community of 18–28 year olds learning to be anchored in who God is and aimed at who he's called us to be.

Two young women smile at the camera, holding up their colorful Dutch Bros drinks with pink straws in a dimly lit indoor space.
A group of six diverse young friends smile and pose for a picture at an indoor event. A basketball hoop is visible in the background.
A grainy, warm-toned photo of three young men posing at a concert. Two have their arms crossed, and they all look towards the camera, smiling.

We're not here for another event on your calendar. We're here to build something that holds — friendships that last, faith that goes deeper than feelings, and a life that's actually going somewhere. We gather Thursday nights to center on the presence of God in worship and the Word, and we spend the rest of the week living what we hear there.

Wherever you're starting from — new to faith, returning to it, or already running hard after Jesus — there's a place for you here.

"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."
— Hebrews 6:19

"So we make it our aim, whether at home or away, to please him."
— 2 Corinthians 5:9

Oasis

A Thursday night space to be refreshed in
the presence of God.

Three people stand on a stage in a group hug, their heads bowed together. Behind them, a screen displays glowing text and a drum kit is visible.
A diverse group of young people stand with their arms around each other, looking up and singing with passionate expressions in a dimly lit setting.
A man with curly hair and a white shirt sings passionately into a microphone on a dimly lit stage, with one arm raised in the air.

Oasis is the heartbeat of HDC Young Adults. Every Thursday night we gather to worship, hear from the Word, and recenter our lives on the presence of God before the weekend hits. It's not designed to be polished or performative — it's designed to be honest. A place to come tired and leave restored. A place to come distracted and leave aimed.

Worship leads, a message rooted in scripture, and people who'll know your name by the second time you come.

Four ways to belong here.

Everything HDC Young Adults does fits into one of four spaces. Whether you're brand new or all in, you'll find your way in through one of these doors — and most people end up in all four eventually.

The word 'oasis' in lowercase is subtly embossed within an amorphous blue shape on a white background.

Presence

Worship is the center, not the warm-up.

The center of HDC YA is Thursday nights — Oasis — where we gather around the presence of God in worship and teaching. It also finds expression in our worship nights and other special gatherings throughout the year. This is the room everything else flows out of.

Chill

Bring your people. We'll bring the space.

Chill spaces aren't primarily for you — they're for the people in your world who might not walk into a church but would walk into a backyard, a pickleball court, or a late-night hangout. Late Nights and other fun events are designed to be the kind of thing you can text a friend about without explaining yourself. Come hang out. Bring someone.

Grow

Anchored takes time. We build the on-ramps.

We're passionate about connecting you to the spaces and resources that grow your roots in God. Rooted small groups, deep-dive, the summer run club, and the rhythms that turn Thursday-night faith into Monday-morning faith. None of this happens by accident — and none of it is meant to be done alone.

Fruit

Faith was always meant to leave the room.

We give Young Adults real spaces to live out their faith and bear fruit — mission trips, serve experiences, prayer gatherings, and on-ramps into the wider ministry of HDC. This is where what you hear Thursday becomes what you do the rest of the week. It's also where you find out what you're actually made for.

NOW PREACHING · 7 WEEKS

The phrase 'hearing God' where 'hearing' is in black text and 'God' is visualized as a red sound wave against a light gray background.

Hearing God

Recognizing his voice in a world full of noise.

God is a speaking God. The reason most of us miss his voice isn't that he's silent — it's that we're listening in the wrong places for the wrong things.

Over seven weeks we're learning to tune in: through his Word, his Spirit, his creation, the leaders he's placed over us, the people running alongside us, and the gathered worship of his church. The goal isn't more information about hearing God. It's actually beginning to hear him — and being formed by what he says.

Rooted

Ten weeks that turn a room full of strangers into a group you can't imagine your life without.

A group of three diverse young people hold up handwritten signs with messages about their Christian faith, posing for a photo in a large room.
A diverse group of young adults stands on a stage, smiling and holding up handwritten signs sharing their personal affirmations of faith and trust in God.
Three young women in a church auditorium smile while holding signs with handwritten messages about confidence, community, and trusting in God.

Rooted is a 10-week experience designed to launch you into a Young Adults Growth Group. You'll walk through the rhythms of a life with God alongside the same handful of people every week — and at the end of those 10 weeks, your group will move on to Deep Dive an is ultimately launched as a codified HDC Growth Group that keeps meeting.

This isn't a class. It's not a fling. It's the start of a community you can actually stay in. If you've ever wanted to be known by people who are running after Jesus too, this is the door.

10 weeks · One night a week · A group of 8–15 young adults

Walking through the rhythms of a rooted life with God

At the end: your group becomes a Growth Group that keeps going

Anchored in community, aimed at calling. You can't be sent well from a place you've never been known.

Mexico Missions Trip

Two homes. One weekend. One God on mission.

Mexico Missions — November 6–8.

A group of volunteers builds the wooden frame for a house. One man cuts wood with a saw, another carries a beam, and a woman measures a plank.
Several workers on a dusty construction site building a house. One kneels to measure wood, one holds a hammer, and another carries a wooden beam.
Three people work together on a sunny day to build the wooden frame of a house, hammering, measuring, and positioning beams on a construction site.

We're heading to Mexico for a weekend trip to build two homes for families in need, learn what global missions actually looks like on the ground, and give you a real chance to test whether this is a calling God has placed on your life.

This is a great opportunity to bear fruit in your faith and be aimed at the purposes of God. You don't need missions experience. You don't need to speak Spanish. You need three days, a willingness to swing a hammer, and an openness to what God might do in you when you go where he sends.

Build two homes for families in need

On-the-ground exposure to global missions

Anchored in His presence, aimed at His purpose.

A smiling family of four poses for a photo outdoors. The parents stand behind their two young sons, one of whom holds a red handprint painting.

You don't have to have it figured out to come.

Most of the people in this room walked in for the first time wondering if they'd fit. They stayed because they did.

Doors open Thursday at 7. We'll save you a seat.
