Wedding and Pre-Marital Class Information

All couples who wish to be married on our campus or by one of our pastors must complete our 6-week pre-marital class (or approved class). 

The first step is for the couple to complete our Pre-Marital Packet and return it to our office. You can download this file (pdf format) or pick one up in the church office.

Once we have received the completed packet, we can set up an appointment for you (as a couple) to meet with one of our pastors. (If you plan to be married by one of HDC's pastoral staff, you would want to contact that pastor to check on his availability to perform your ceremony.) The use of HDC's pastoral staff is limited to their availability and compliance with HDC's Policies and Philosophies of Ministry.

If after meeting with the pastor, you are invited to attend the class, you would sign the registration form that is included in the Pre-Marital Packet. The pastor would place you on the list for the next class. We conduct classes periodically throughout the year. Classes are posted on our events calendar and advertised in our weekend program. There is a $50 fee per couple for class materials.

After you have been invited to attend the class, you can contact our wedding coordinator to see about using our facility for your wedding. All weddings at HDC must be coordinated through the HDC wedding coordinator and use an HDC hostess.

The use of our facility for weddings is limited to members or regular attenders of HDC. In order to use the facility, the couple will need to have met the pre-marital counseling requirements—attend the 6-week pre-marital class. The use of a pastor other than the pastoral staff at HDC must be approved by HDC's pastoral staff. Receptions are limited to HDC members only.
