The church is not a place, name, building, or program; it is a gathering of people who love God. God has created every human being to desire deep relationships and we understand God more fully when we are in community.
High Desert Church is a big church, but you don't need to be just another face in the crowd. If you want to meet people and grow in your relationship with God, we believe being a part of a Small Group is the best place for you.
Want to join a Small Group?
We have several ways that you can join a small group.
1. The Gathering.
The Gathering is the most effective way for you to meet other people, understand group life, and begin your journey. It meets on different times and dates depending on the campus.

2. Ask one of your friends who already belongs to a group and see if you can join theirs. Everyone has an oikos and your oikos might already be in a group that has room for more.
3. The Small Group Locator.
This gives you a map of the desert and shows all our open small groups. This gives you easy access to find a group that will fit you. And it’s all from the comfort of your home.

***Financial Peace
University*** This fall we are starting FPU small groups. If you’re interested in attending a FPU small
group, please register in the office or at the VV campus on the weekend. What
is FPU? Financial Peace University is a 13-week, biblically-based, fun, and energetic program.
It was designed by Dave Ramsey to train and motivate its
participants to understand the biblical foundation of money. The topics include; getting out of debt,
staying out debt, saving, giving generously, paying for college, investing, and
much much more. How
long is FPU? Financial Peace University is a 13-week
curriculum. Your small group will meet
for about 1.5-2 hours. How
much does it cost to attend FPU? It costs $100 per family unit. It doesn’t matter if you’re single or
married; it is a flat fee of $100 per family unit. Every family unit receives a member’s kit.

What is a Small Group?
A Small Group is a group of people (4-20) who gather on a regular basis in homes, work, Starbucks, etc., for the purpose of preparing you to change your world for Christ. A Small Group is HDC’s way of making a large church personal. We have a Small Group for every stage of life.
Why should I belong to a Small Group?
God doesn’t want us to “do life” alone. In a Small Group, we go through the ups and downs of life with one another, we learn how to live the Christian life, and we grow in our knowledge of God’s truth. It is HDC’s desire that everyone participates in a Small Group.
What if I want my entire family involved in a Small Group?
You would want to be a part of one of our Family Groups. Family Groups combine like-minded, like-aged, and like-located families throughout the Victor Valley into family groups who meet consistently to develop Christ-centered homes. These groups are unique in that they are multi-generational and are made up of families with children that range from toddlers all the way through high school. Parents and children are studying God's Word together as a Small Group unit.
