High Desert Church is a group of evangelical Christian communities ministering to approximately 8,000 active participants. HDC is a multi-generational church reaching out to three different generational cultures through separate worship styles and strategic opportunities for personal growth. The core purpose of each of these communities is to prepare people to change their worlds for Christ.
Throughout biblical history, God has utilized the "extended family" as the primary instrument through which the good news of his love is communicated to the world. The New Testament writers called that group an oikos, (the Greek term for "household") and everyone has one. On the average, yours is made up of anywhere from eight to fifteen people whom God has supernaturally and strategically placed in your direct sphere of influence. HDC’s ministry is designed to prepare individuals to engage their "eight to fifteen," their oikos, with the tremendous news of God’s grace.
